Joanne Clarkson was taught card reading as a child by her grandmother, psychic Esther Monson Erdman. Wanting to have an intuitive skill not practiced by other family members, in her early teens Joanne learned palmistry from books in the public library. Joanne has used her insights throughout her life for self-fulfillment and to encourage others. With palm readings, she explores talents, tendencies and life paths. Although she began with regular playing cards, Joanne now prefers the beautiful, symbolic images of the Tarot to help seekers answer questions, make contact, and reach a deeper understand of self and surroundings.
Joanne has Masters’ Degrees in English and Library Science, has taught and worked as a professional librarian. After caring for her mother through a long illness, she re-careered as a registered nurse specializing in Home Health and Hospice.
Joanne has written poetry as her artistic practice through her life, publishing over 200 poems in magazines and journals internationally. Her newest collection, “The Fates,” won Bright Hill Press’ annual contest and was published in June of 2017. Her chapbook, “Believing the Body,” was a finalist for Gribble Press’ contest and appeared in 2014. In 2016, she published a book about her personal and hospice experiences titled: “There’s Always a Miracle: True Stories of Life Before and After Death.” See more at JoanneClarkson.com.
